With the latest DVSA driving test examiners strikes announced, what does that mean for you if you have your driving test booked?

In reality, you have two choices:

Option 1. Just turn up and hope the examiner you’ve been allocated is not in the union that is striking. If they aren’t striking you get your driving test, if they are you’ll be informed and a new test date will be allocated as soon as possible.

Option 2. Cancel / Amend your driving test. Make sure you do this within a minimum of 3 clear working days or you’ll lose your fee. If you’re able to get an earlier test slot than the likely rescheduled date then it might be worth considering but, last time there was industrial action, the DVSA got more tests available quickly so you didn’t have to wait as long those that moved the test themselves.

If you choose to leave your test where it is, you MUST attend or it may be classed as not attended and you lose your fee.
